You know you’re a mom when…
Are you a quote lover? I am!! They inspire me, make me laugh, and make me feel included!
2016 has started off good, but busy and it feels like I lost my groove a little. We’re waking up late, we are forgetting to wash things we need, and we have ants in the cupboard!! It’s ok though…I’m gaining some momentum and getting my butt back in gear to dominate my MOM LIFE!
In the meantime, I found these quotes that are hilariously true and help me remember that moms are not alone…we all go through the same things. Some of us just hide it better behind yesterday’s mascara, messy buns, and gorgeous smiles!
Totally me! I really try to be super patient. I don’t cry over spilled milk. I love my kids and know that they’re not perfect. But at 8:00 pm…let’s get to bed please!! Mama needs a break!
This makes me smile…there are MANY controversial topics in the mom world. We all think we’re doing it right…or are we? If you have a happy kid, I’m pretty sure you’re doing OK. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself.
My favorite thing to tell my husband who things I just take naps all day! Sometimes I really do take naps and that’s OK! I need to take care of myself so that I can be a good mom and wife. When I need to rest, I rest. The dishes will still be there, trust me!
GUILTY!! Oh my goodness, that’s embarrassing and kinda gross! But you know what? I don’t want to get up in the middle of the night, wake a sleeping husband, change the sheets…Just put a towel on the bed and deal with it in the morning. Mattress protectors are awesome!
Yes…yes I am! Sometimes when I tell my kids I love them out of nowhere, they reply “Love you too mom. You tell us that everyday!” Of course I do…many times a day. I want them to always know it, feel it, and believe it! I love my kids and will kiss them in public FOREVER!
Do you this? It’s funny that the behaviors that bother us most are usually our own! I totally call my kids out for things that I know I do too. I have a blog post on this you can read here. It’s normal…just be strong enough to talk about it with your kid.
OH-EM-GEE! So true! I was born in 1985. So I grew up in the ’90s where we still had phone books, like an actual book. I developed a super strong memory. I knew everyone’s phone number, I remembered what day we were on, I even learned to read by memory when I was 4 years old! Now…don’t ask me what I did yesterday!
Then call me a GREAT mom 🙂 Sometimes my husband is like “What happened in here?!?!” I just lovingly remind him of our three gorgeous girls we get to raise and promise him someday we will know what a clean house looks like! And I stopped apologizing to guests for a messy house. We have kids…and we LIVE here. Our mess reminds me that we are blessed to have kids and that they have toys to play with – lots of toys!
And it doesn’t stop at age 4! I love how much my girls want to learn and know about. The toddler years are silly and fun questions, no matter how tiring. Now my nine year old is starting to ask questions I’m not ready to answer! That’s a whole other blog post (coming soon!).
Ok, so this isn’t a funny quote. But I had to include to remind ourselves how important our role is as a mommy. No matter how hard the day was, how much attitude got thrown around, how many eyes were rolled, what mean things were yelled, how many tears were shed…our kids love us and need us! I am a 30 year old woman with three kids and I still need my mama! I have an inner peace knowing that even when I’m the mean mom, my kids love me and they know I love them.
What are some of your favorite mom quotes?
