Who’s that girl?
I have been blogging for a few months now, getting to know some awesome moms as they join the journey and start creating more happiness in their life, and learn more about what they want!
So I thought it would be a great time to tell you a little more about me!
In my real life I am a happy mom to three amazing little girls that truly teach me all about life everyday! Alison is almost 10, Kylee is 8 and Averi is 18 months. They are silly, smart, and sassy and I would have them any other way. I started dating my hubby 12 years ago!!! We were babies…and just celebrated our 6 year wedding anniversary on the 4th of July!! We love going to the river, playing Monopoly Deal and watching movies. My family is seriously everything to me!!
In my professional life I’m a Happiness Coach for Moms! That just means I love helping moms like you live a truly happy life, so I become your BFF on a journey to rediscover who you are so you can find the freedom to enjoy life a whole lot more!!
Why do I do it?
When I was a little girl, I couldn’t wait to be a mommy. If there was a baby around, you would most definitely find me. And I knew I wanted to be a young mom. The husband thoughts were there too, but motherhood was the ultimate goal.
In 2006, I had my first daughter 3 weeks before my 21st birthday. Instead of planning a weekend being drunk in Vegas (isn’t that what you do when you turn 21???), I was breastfeeding, changing diapers, and trying to get a couple showers a week! And it was PERFECTLY AMAZING!!!
My second daughter was born 18 months later. So life got more beautiful, and also more crazy!
I worked as an event planner and took Alison to work with me for a year, but when Kylee was born I started working from home except when we had events. I usually got to take my kiddos and my mom or hubby, but our events were 4-5 days of 15 hours each day!! It was exhausting! So 2 young kids, a flexible but demanding job, and other family responsibilities had this mama constantly on the go!!! Can you relate?
Fast forward to 2012, I was still a super busy mom working and attending events all over the country and had the girls in school and dance. And I started to get pains & inflammation in my joints. It started out slow and jumped around from joint to joint. Some days were good, others were tough. By Fall 2012, I dropped 50 lbs way too fast, had inflammation so bad I could only wear slippers and they were two sizes bigger than my normal size, and I could barely walk. I was in constant pain day and night.
SO I DID WHAT ANY NORMAL MOM WOULD DO, AND KEPT DOING IT ALL!!!
But as my body continued to slow down, the fatigue was constant, and the pain was getting unbearable, I began to realize inside that things needed to change. BIG TIME! The diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis sucked but life must go on! I share more about this story in A Vulnerable Post…!
RA caused me to make some major changes in my life. I had to slow down, put myself first, and learn to say no to things that pushed to my limit and beyond.
I don’t want moms to feel so overwhelmed and frazzled because they are DOING IT ALL.
I want moms to know they have the power to have an incredible life.
I want moms to rediscover themselves so they are happier and feel free to enjoy life.
